Not my baby anymore

i can't stop it, no matter how hard i try. elliot is growing up.

we have to say good-bye to the crib today. he has climbed out of it - twice. dan heard him talking this morning and when he went to get him elliot was standing by the door. when i put him down for his nap this morning i kissed him and told him to take a good night-night nap. then, around 12:15 i hear noises from the gameroom. i looked on the monitor and did not see him in his bed. curious. where is he? i thought. so i walked upstairs, and, yes, there he was playing with a toy. i was totally shocked. not so much that he got out of his crib, i mean that was only a matter of time, but i was more concerned that he opened the door. so anyway, i picked him up and took him to his room to change his diaper. i wanted to see how he managed climbing out so i put him in his crib and said, okay elliot, come see me. he put both hands on the rail, pushed up a little and threw one leg over, then the other. then hung there for a second and dropped to the floor. WHAT? i guess he'll be sleeping in the toddler bed tonight.

hmmm. i'm a little sad. he's my BABY! not an almost two-year-old!! i guess we'll have to have another one.

I am sorry your baby is growing up. Just remember you can do more now as they all get older. Those trips to Louisiana, maybe a family trip not to visit family or friends? Think of all the positives of him growing up, and all the doors that are opening to you. It's good.
Although if you want to have another one wait a little and you can have your 4th when I have my 2nd! (Don't ask when Rob has said I have to wait until the credit card is paid off and savings is back up.)

Yikes! Now you have 3 of them capable of doing whatever they want in the middle of the night. No more security crib. How often do they run and crawl in bed with you?
