Emily's world
i caught emily looking out the window this morning. she was all decked out - had her favorite crown on, her fairy wings, her wand, her mood ring, sparkly bracelet, lip gloss & her favorite gaudy necklace.
this is emily most of the time. she's always dressing up and playing pretend. oh, to be emily. in her world, she is the princess & is in charge of her kingdom. she meets little resistance with the prince & the knight. (somehow she gets them to play princess with her (everyday)...those poor boys never get to play boy games. but they don't mind, they just love playing with her.) she gets a little bummed out when the king and the queen make her eat green beans instead of peanut butter, or not allow her to eat icing with a spoon right out of the can. in her kingdom there is no punishment for being disobedient...no time out & no hot sauce on naughty tongues. more than once she has said her subjects get to do whatever they want.
i hope a little of this lasts forever. i want her to always be the way she is; picky eating and all. in just a little over 6 months she'll be starting kindergarten. i'm a little afraid her spirit will somehow be broken. i'm praying now for her adjustment...it's going to be a tough one. how i will miss her during the day. but i do look forward to spending lots of time with the prince & the knight. it'll be different, but fun. i wonder if we'll still play princess when she's at school?

that's so sweet! jolie's imagination takes her to interesting places everyday - i love it!
I love that picture! Sometimes when i'm sitting here staring at numbers all day, i wish i could go back to the imaginary world i had as a child. I hope she keeps it for a while anyway.
aww..what a sweet pic!!!
this post makes me think of the sweetness a girl will bring to our house, and also makes me nervous a little. lip gloss? i am SO not prepared.
I can't wait to play princess with Joy! Emily won't be broken in Kindergarten, just pray for a teacher and friends who will embrace her! I always encouraged the princesses in my classes! (Unless they didn't realize I was the Queen!)
