I need a vacation!

well, the summer is almost over. school starts on monday, which means i won't have 5 kids in my house anymore!! yipee! i feel like i have so much more freedom! :) it was a tough summer. i don't think i'll ever commit to something like that again...it was just too much. i did make enough money for a new embroidery machine though.

we are headed off to the beach. not the pretty beaches of alabama or florida, but the yucky beaches of galveston. my mil has a bunch of timeshares, and she traded and got us a week at Escapes! in galveston. the name is funny. why would anyone put an exclamation point at the end of just one word? we'll be way down on the island. hopefully the sand is cleaner and the water is prettier down there...i know, it's not going to be, but we can hope. dan and i joked that maybe since the place has a private beach that they truck white sand in and clean the seaweed out of the water every day. right. :) it'll be nice not to be at home though. i looked at the website, and the pool looks really nice. that'll be fun. we are all looking forward to doing all the touristy things.

Going Nationwide

well, a couple of weeks ago i get an email out of the blue from a boutique owner in NC. she was asking about my monogrammed pacifier clips -- would i sell them wholesale?? so i emailed her back and thanked her for her interest and said i'd look into it.

well, i sent her some samples, and she loved them! she placed an order yesterday for 50!!! i'm thrilled! i asked her (like i do all out-of-state customers) where she got my site from. google -- she googled "intial pacifier clips" or something like that and i was on the first page. YIPEE!! i'm out there, baby. :)

so anyway, things are busy around here! yesterday i got 3 orders, and one inquiry about starting a registry; do we know a kim russell?? the name sounds familiar...

what a summer

we've been so busy this summer i've not had a lot of time to blog! i'm glad stacy and megan blogged about our north louisiana trip -- they had the best pics! this was elliot on our way to shreveport. he's so cute when he sleeps.

last night i took the kids to putt-putt. they had a lot of fun.

i could never get him to hold the putter right, but he got it in!

emily was showing me how far she hit it. believe it or not, she hit it all the way down the green almost to the hole!

they wanted to know if they could get the balls back.
this is something i'm thinking about putting on my site. it's a small blanket; i copied it (and made a few minor changes!) from one i saw on littlegiraffe.com. it's about 14x14. any thoughts? little blake has been a great little product tester - thanks blake! :)
