The heat, and the hassles

well, i don't know who bradley is, and why he gives shandra a hard time about her posts, but bradley, if you hear i mentioned you in my blog, - IT'S STINKIN' HOT IN HOUSTON! i thought by giving birth in early may i would escape the heat. no dice! it was 85 degrees here in league city today!! we live near galveston bay so you'd think that would cool things down. WRONG! it's only going to get hotter. yikes! i feel bad about having the air set on 73-74, but we'll just have to deal with the $300 electric bill this month! i'm not going to be hot.

so on to other things. mid-may will be very interesting for the mcneals. check this timeline out:

ethan's 2nd (belated) birthday party - may 6 (poor ethan, his birthday was april 6)
my church shower - may 6
i'm due - may 16, but will probably deliver sooner
we close on this house - may 18
we close on our new house - may 19
we move from this house - may 23 or 26
we move all our things to storage - may 23 or 26
we move our things out of storage and in the new house - may 31

in the middle of all that, i'll have to find a good time to give birth. and if you caught it, we'll be homeless for a few days; we'll be living out of a suitcase in a hotel room. at least there will be a pool to go veg in! but really, it's going to be a living nightmare. i'll be crying non-stop because i'll have a newborn who won't nurse and won't sleep (and he'll be crying as well). i'll have the baby blues, the kids will be crying because they are jacked up about not being able to be with us during the day (and they'll be missing their naps), and finally, dan will be crying just because. we do have great friends who we are depending on to help out with the kids during the day. nights will be a hard time, but hopefully a grandmother or two will show up to help us out.

anyway, pray for us. we sorta have the scarlett o'hara attitude about it now; we are putting off thinking about it until tomorrow, and the next day, and the next...

dan said i'm being a little melodramatic...yes, i am, but those are the facts.

Wow! That is just nuts!! Can you ship Emily and Ethan off to camp grandma for a few days?? I can't imagine being in a hotel and then getting a new house settled with three kids. That is just crazy. We will definitely be praying. You can send them to Pflugerville if you need to!

What exciting times!

You feel BAD for having your thermostat on 73-74???? Mine is on 69 and if anybody goes near it...well, no one has been brave enough. We have blankets, throws and afghans out for the weak and cold natured friends. But there is a cardinal rule at my house or in my car...MOMMA AIN'T FUN WHEN MOMMA IS HOT !!

Definately ship big brother & big sister off to "camp grandma"!!!! And why are you in a hotel & moving the furniture twice - once to storange & then again to the house - yikes - sounds like a LOT of work - you're not doing the lifting- right? (You always have had a knack for the dramatic ;) Not that I'm compaining - kept me entertained many a day!!) On second thought, maybe YOU should go to camp grandma and let Dan deal with all of it!!

One good thing I've found about lots happening at once is that then the craziness is over all at once. Granted, the giving birth part takes it to a new level, but think about...you're going to crying for the baby blues, etc., at some point, you're going to be miserable in a hotel for a few days at some point. This way, it's all at once and not dragged out over months :). Just trying to think of the positive!!
