i heart...
tv. confession is good for the soul, so here goes.
as long as i can remember, i have fallen asleep at night listening to the TV. when i was a teenager, my dad would come in my room and turn it off before he went to bed. and now, dan turns it off. :) but my favorite shows to fall asleep to are seinfeld and king of the hill. why? because i've seen them so much i don't even have to watch. they play in my head. i'm usually asleep before they are even over.
i've discovered a new station: pbs hd. they have a totally different line-up than the regular pbs station. i love the programming, it's high on earth science. LOVE earth science. i've been recording cool shows these days. i have to admit, the hd channel has really tight graphics. my new favorite pbs shows: frontline, secrets of the dead, nova, walking the bible, exploring space and history detectives.
i think now we probably need to contribute to pbs. with emily's curious george fixation and my pbs fixation in general, we owe a lot of money to them. oh yeah, daniel watches a lot of their saturday morning programming. although they've jacked with their schedule lately...
i wish i did not love TV so much. i just hope i don't make my kids love it. some days though i turn it off all day. the quiet is nice. i try to do it a couple of times a week. i'm working my way up to having it off a lot. :)
i feel so much better!

If/When you do contribute to PBS, be sure and give enough so you qualify for the totebag...
That Dan can then turn around and eBay.
Curious George, eh? Does this mean that Spongebob and the Little Einsteins have past their prime?
TV is quite the powerful drug. TV mixed with DVD is even worse. I've got apx. 200 hours of TV on DVD that I've bought but haven't even gotten around to watching yet. (The Office, Without a Trace, Entourage, House, Alias. Even a Simpsons and a Shield!)
There really just aren't enough hours in the day.
When Diron is gone, I also fall asleep to Seinfeld and King of the Hill! Must be all that time we spent as roommates! ha ha We don't have any channels but the 4 locals, but that PBS HD channel sounds cool.
"Nana just pledged $5000!"
Too much TV is really bad. It makes your attention span short. This leads to ...
I can't remember what I was saying. But I think it was something about TV being bad.
We watch cartoons in the morning for a little while then I usually keep it off until around the time Todd comes home. I enjoy watching as well, but I have found that I'm more productive with the tube off!
obviously i'm not as productive as megan, as i create my nightly schedule around what's on tv.
i heart it, too.
i definitely heart tv. though even with the dvr, i still manage to procrastinate and things don't get done. like for instance there's a pile of clothes on the floor in front of my big screen right at this moment, waiting to be washed...
i hate it being quiet in the house so if i shut off the tv i will turn on some of andrew's music. however, that confuses the poor boy and he'll still stand in front of the tv waiting for the picture to come on. he just doesn't get it. it's quite funny. or he will stand in front of the speaker and look at it.
I will not admit to how MANY TV's we have in our home :} we are with BF - we have hours & hours of DVD's) and we rent DVD's - just finished NYPD Blue, ordered Hill Street Blues - watched all the years of Alias, have Seinfeld, Northern Exporsure, you get the picture - I won't watch anything unless it is from Season 1, Show 1 and it must be sequential - I am OCD that way.
